Yes I do, Jim my husband does not. It gives us the opportunity to bounce and test new recipes off of each other, getting feedback from a person who does not have to eat gluten free really let’s me know that I have created a wonderful recipe knowing that they enjoy eating it just as much as a normal recipes with gluten.
Absolutely. We love our gluten-free baked goods and the versatility of using Toosie’s All Purpose Flour for all of our savory cooking as well.
Gluten is a protein that is found in wheat, barley and rye. None of our products contain gluten.
People affected by the Celiac disease cannot consume food containing any amount of gluten. There are also those who have trouble digesting gluten and are considered gluten-intolerant or have a sensitivity to gluten foods. Individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) may exhibit low tolerance or allergies to certain foods or chemicals. While not a specific cause of autism, these food intolerances or allergies may contribute to behavioral issues. Many parents and professionals have reported significant changes when gluten is eliminated from the child’s diet.
Celiac disease is an autoimmune digestive disease that damages the villi of the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. What does this mean? Essentially the body is attacking itself every time a person with celiac consumes gluten. It is estimated that three million Americans have celiac disease.
Yes, if you have dairy issues you can substitute Vegan butters such as Nature’s Balance and Soy or Rice milks and the recipes will turn out fine. All of the boxed mixes allow you to add the basic ingredients of butter, eggs and liquid so you can modify according to your needs. Our Bread Mix and Pancake and Waffle mix do already contain dairy in the mixes. None of our mixes contain any nut products.
No, although we are still making pastries I tried to do my best to make them as healthy as possible! Toosie’s uses only Whole Grain Brown Rice Flour which has more nutrient values than White Rice Flour. We also use Whole Grain Millet Flour in our bread mixes for a higher protein count and general nutrition. Pure Cane Sugar is also used in all our mixes. The All Purpose Flour contains no sugars and can be substituted cup per cup in your favorite recipes, if you need to use different sugars according to your diet this would work for you. I have successfully used Agave syrup in most of my recipes. Toosie’s will never use a Modified Starch. I also have issues with Chemical allergies and do not believe these Modified starches are something I wish to consume myself so therefore will not make them subject to my customers.
No, I have created this product so that no adjustment is necessary where ever you live.
